About NorthGES


Kateland North, President, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of NorthGES.  She will ensure that NorthGES delivers projects on time and on budget so that our clients are satisfied.  With her extensive experience as a state-licensed educator, she has nurtured and developed strong organizational, administrative, and management skills.  Kateland's track record for ensuring quality deliverables and meeting project deadlines ensures that NorthGES meets and exceeds client expectations.  Kateland has a B.S. from the University of New Mexico.

John North, PE, GE, Vice President, has over 30 years of experience and serves as the engineering interface with our clients.    His extensive experience includes technical and project management roles with geotechnical, environmental, and civil engineering consulting companies. With his geotechnical design and construction background, John has contributed to a  variety of projects including: state and federal highway projects; tunneling; dam evaluation and rehabilitation; slope stability analysis and landslide mitigation; earthquake engineering; water and wastewater treatment facilities; commercial nuclear power stations; Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear and non-nuclear facilities; transfer stations; landfill closures; and commercial developments.

John earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.  He is a registered professional Civil Engineer (PE) in NM (#13211), AZ (#60985), CA (#41003), ID (#12385), TX (#130497), and WA (#52381).  He is also a registered Geotechnical Engineer (GE) in California (#2290).
